A boat ride on the river Ganges gives a unique experience in Varanasi. Your tourist guide will take you to Dasashmedh Ghat(main Ghat) where you will take a private boat ride and you will do a one-hour boat ride between Manikarnika ghat to Harischandra ghat. Aarti, the prayer ceremony of the Ganges river which takes place every day on the bank of the Ganges river. It is performed on a stage by a group of young Hindu priests. Chanting of hymns and blowing of the conch shell marks the start of the Aarti after that priests do this ceremony with incenses, flowers, and fire. More or less 12000 pilgrims gather there to see the Aarti. The Aarti starts after the sunset at around 6:30 pm in the winter season (7:00 pm in the summer season) and is a forty-five-minute long soulful ritual.
Walking in the old Varanasi you will feel and understand how people are living in the old city from generation to generation in the same place.
